In the EV market, every year gets more exciting than the last one, and most probably we will soon see a huge acceleration of new EV models coming to the market, especially 2020 and 2021.

However, 2019 will also be having new all-electric vehicles options. So here are the top 9 all-electric vehicles expected to come up in 2019.

1- Mercedes-Benz EQC 2019

Mercedes-Benz EQC has a 650 kW battery pack with a capacity of 80 kWh. It’s expected to go as far as 450km (280 miles) with a single charge according to the company’s announcement, using NEDC standard.

The car is expected to start around $70,000 but the company didn’t confirm the price yet.

2- BMW i3 2019

BMW has been releasing upgrades for the i3, and this time it’s a significant upgrade.

The 2019 BMW i3 will be getting new 120Ah battery cells, which will account for a range of about 153 miles, according to the automaker. This is nearly a 30% increase over the previous version.

The current BMW i3 has a base price of $44,450.

3- Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is reportedly the most awaited electric vehicle of 2019, mainly because it will introduce a 800-volt system with the fastest EV charging that is known to date.

The car is expected to have a range with different options ranging from 200 to 300 miles. The Porsche Taycan is also expected to be able to keep high speeds for a long period of time without overheating.

As for the price it should start around $90,000.

The car is expected to come into production around the end of the year.

4- Volvo all-electric XC40

Earlier this year the company announced that they will be making an all-electric version of the new Volvo XC40 SUV.

The all-electric Volvo XC40 is expected to come at a lower price than the Mercedes-Benz EQC, keeping in mind that the non-electric version starts at $36,000.

The car is expected to go as far as 200 miles of range on a single charge.

5- Audi e-tron 2019

Audi e-tron was expected to hit the market in 2018, but it was late, delayed due to software issues. Now the first deliveries in Europe should be in Q1 2019, and the first deliveries to North America is in Q2 2019.

Audi e-tron SUV starting price is $74,800.

6- Nissan Leaf 2019

Like the BMW i3 the Nissan Leaf is getting a significant upgrade. With the new 60 kWh battery pack expected to be introduced this year the Nissan Leaf will be able to go as far as 200 miles, making it an affordable long-range all-electric vehicle.

7- Tesla Model Y

Model Y is Tesla’s upcoming crossover.

Back in 2015, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk described a future Model Y that will be a full-sized SUV aimed for families. 

Elon Musk has announced that the car will probably be unveiled on March 2019, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Musk also announced that the Model Y will be in production early 2020.

8- Kia Niro EV

KIA is expected to release the Niro EV in 2019.

The company announced that in Europe, the Niro EV will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 7.8 seconds, and it will come in two versions, one that can go for a range of 300 km (186 miles) and another that can go for a range of 250 miles range, with a single charge.

9- Mini Electric 2019

The BMW group didn’t introduce any new all-electric cars to the market since the BMW i3 which came out in 2013, but in 2019 BMW is expected to introduce the all-electric Mini. This is a concept design for the car that is expected to come to production in 2019.

There isn’t much information about the specs of the car, however, it’s expected to go as far as 150 miles of range.
